Intermoda 79 – a Big Business Day for LATAM Fashion With Positive Impact

The exhibition is emerging as the first in the Mexican meetings industry to apply sustainable practices

  • The fair promotes a sustainability and legacy project* through actions that involve exhibitors, buyers, partners, suppliers, and their committee organisers.
  • More than 23 000 buyers are expected in 4 days of the exhibition.
  • New pavilions will enrich the visitor shopping experience.

From July 18 to 21, Intermoda will hold its 79th edition. In addition to confirming its place as the most important business meeting of the fashion sector in Latin America, the exhibition is emerging as the first in the Mexican meetings industry to apply sustainable* practices.

Through a space made up of 46 500 square meters, this edition will have 1 500 stands, 1 150 brands, 650 exhibitors, 23 000 buyers and – for the first time – a project focused on sustainability and legacy to catalyse the event’s social and environmental impacts under the guidance* of social consultancy #MEET4IMPACT and the Global Destination Sustainability Movement.

Some of its priority actions and objectives include:

– Creating a Sustainable Exhibitor Guide.

– Collaborating with local foundations.

– Measuring the perception of sustainable actions.

– Offering a sustainability workshop for strategic partners like Expo Guadalajara and Guadalajara CVB.

– Implementating a basic waste-reduction program during the event:

– 40% of the food served during Intermoda will be vegetarian and 60% of it locally-sourced.

– Measurement of environmental impact on visitor attendance at Intermoda.

– A progressive substitution of traditional materials for environmentally-friendlier materials.

– A sustainability training programme.

– Communicating and promoting the project during the event.

With these and other practices, Intermoda 79 aims to inspire, transform, and chart a collaborative future focused on  regeneration.
